SUCCULENT PLANTS

When you are away from home all day long, you don’t have much time to take care of your plants and sometimes difficulties may arise. Succulent plants are the perfect solution if you want a touch of green in your house but you don’t have a lot of time to look after your plants.

Besides being simple to maintain, they are ideal for indoor decoration and, thanks to the different sizes, colours and shapes, offer a wide range of creativity solutions. Succulent plants survive well in extreme weather conditions since in the desert, temperatures fall steeply during the night, therefore they can resist temperatures jumps.

This kind of plant can be placed on your terrace, towards the light and, in autumn and winter, it is important to shelter it from the rain. It can be watered once a month with a nebulizer without overdoing it. If the plants are placed indoors, they must be positioned in an illuminated spot, with not much humidity and a variable temperature.

INDOOR PLANTS IN AUTUMN

Using indoor plants in your home can be a great solution to decorate with a touch of green. Which plants are the most suitable to enrich our interiors in autumn? Many plants bloom in spring and give off their perfume in summer, still, there are plants that can survive frigid temperatures and that are suitable for the autumnal season and for the inside of your house or flat.

Begonia Corallina

If you don’t have much time to spare but you love plants, Begonia Corallina is the ideal choice. Treating and growing this flower is simple and does not require much time; in fact, during the winter, the plant does not need a large quantity of water. Its pink flowers endure almost all year round and donate a touch of colours to our homes.

Autumn Chrysanthemum

Autumn Chrysanthemum, as the name suggests, are the perfect flower for the cold season. The plant can be put in pots and helps us colour our interiors during those cold grey days between seasons.

Dracaena
Dracaena is an ideal indoor plant since it is highly ornamental. It needs a lot of light, therefore we recommend avoiding shadowed areas. If properly taken care of, it will impeccably decorate your interiors.

Cyclamen
Cyclamens are among the strongest cold-resistant plants, they endure in autumn and sometimes last until the spring. The flowers are colourful, ranging from white to dark pink; they need a lot of light, yet not direct. The ideal temperatures for cyclamens spans from 10 and 18°C.

First, during the first weeks of September, it is necessary to control the growth of weeds and abundantly water plants that have suffered from summer heat, while at the same time pruning annual plants that have concluded their growth cycle, like cosmos or delphiniums.
